About Us

Some of the best buildings in Britain are parish churches and other places of worship. But how many people know about them? We believe the best churches are ones that get visited and understood - by worshippers, tourists, walkers, historians, poets and artists. An imaginative and interesting guide is essential when it comes to understanding and enjoying a building, particularly for those unfamiliar with religious traditions, and we want to make sure every church in Britain has great guides for potential, casual, experienced and young visitors.

Our Work

We work to help churches write great new guides by providing volunteer writers, experienced mentors and a creative 'how-to' guide. If you are a parish church and you want to find new and interesting ways to explain your history and community to your visitors we can help.

Or if you're a writer or researcher with new ideas about how to communicate with church visitors of all levels of experience and you would be willing to volunteer your time to help write a new guide, why not register?
